SERVICES AND SUPPORT AVAILABLE TO JUNIOR SQUASH PLAYERS IN NSW
JUNIOR BEGINNER: There are a wide range of options for young beginner players to train and compete within club coaching programs to learn the BASICS. Squash is an easy game to learn, and there are modified games and equipment to suit every size and skill level. It is important that beginner players start to develop correct TECHNIQUE under the guidance of a qualified Coach.
JUNIOR CLUB: Players will be introduced to in-house and inter-club competition under the guidance of qualified coaches. Players should establish the ability and desire to respond especially to the TECHNICAL area through this stage of their development. Players should also have an understanding and appreciation of the TACTICAL and PSYCHOLOGICAL skills used in the game.Players should be introduced to PHYSICAL FITNESS programs specific to the game.

In Sydney and Country Regional areas, circuit tournaments are successfully running and cater for all ages and all standards. Contact your nearest Squash Club or NSW Squash for further information.
TALENT ID: Players that stand out with the potential, attitude and focus to develop into a high grade player, progress through the Sydney and Country Regional Development Squad programs into the NSW Squash Academy.
SQUAD TRAINING: The purpose of the Squad system is to provide training with players of comparable standard under professional supervision, which might otherwise not be available to the player concerned.Players are provided with a solid, regular and consistent training base at a more advanced level with the State’s leading squash juniors. The principal is that the squad training supplements (not replaces) private coaching sessions.

All Squads operate under the NSW Squash Academy’s banner which provides resources to help you achieve results.
In the following format will be followed:
Regional:6 sessions per year (depending on Region)
Conducted Sundays between 10 – 3pm (3-4 hours depending on Region)

Sydney: Twice monthly in North/West, South and Southwest districts (Day/s may vary between districts)
Sessions from February through to November
Overall annual plan – including competition and tournament schedule for each player
Additional training, coaching, tournament / event and touring opportunities as they arise
Individualised training programs to include technical/tactical (on-court) and physical (on & off –court) training
Training will target specific milestones, tournaments and events within the NSW & Australian Squash Calendars. The Squad Training will focus on 4 major areas: Technical, Tactical, Psychological and Fitness for Squash
Fitness, endurance, strength, conditioning and goal setting programs
Players may discuss variations with the Squad management to suit their needs
Player performance assessments and evaluations will be provided on an individual basis
Full term commitment
Additional opportunity to attend a NSW Squash Academy weekend training camp/s
With the Regional Coaches, the NSW Squash Head Coach will oversee the program with a pool of assistant and guest coaches

STATE JUNIOR:
There are many opportunities for established Junior Players to improve. Most at this level would have represented at School, Regional, State and National Championships.
The PDC is very proud of the high-quality supportive team network being established throughout NSW. This is certainly a positive environment for our talented and performing players.
