Welcome to our Ref Ready: Interactive Workshop

Join us at our Junior Pennant Gala Day for Ref Ready, an engaging and interactive workshop led by Squash NSW Referee Ben Miller.

This session is designed for everyone:

• Young juniors – a fun and simple introduction to the basics of refereeing.

• Parents – an opportunity to better understand the game and support your players.

• Beginner referees – a chance to refresh your knowledge and build confidence.

The workshop will cover what calls referees make in squash, why they are made, and how to tell the difference between a stroke, let, and no let.

We’d also like to share details about the Squash Australia Junior Referee Certification (for under 16s). To access the certification, players must be affiliated. More information is available through Squash Australia’s MySquashAUS Learning Centre.

Junior Pennant Gala Day - Saturday 18th October 2025

📍 Kicks off 8:30am Join us for a fun-filled day of squash at the Junior Pennant Gala Day! This free event is open to kids of all levels and from any school – everyone is welcome. The day includes: Beginner grading round robin at 9:00am Ref ready: Interative Workshop with Squash NSW Referee Ben Miller at 10:15am Intermediate grading round robin at 11:00am A free BBQ, plus snacks and drinks available throughout the day It’s the perfect opportunity to learn, play, make friends and experience the excitement of Junior Pennant. Even better – if you join Junior Pennant, Squash NSW will cover your 2026 Affiliation Fee as part of our special deal.
