Coach Sense - Coach Education Workshop

Squash NSW will be hosting a 2-day Coaching Workshop at MAASH Sports & Fitness, Marsfield on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th May 2026.

The workshop will commence from midday on Saturday (allowing time for those travelling) and conclude by approximately 4:00pm on Sunday.

A practical, hands-on coaching experience

This workshop is designed to go beyond theory. It will combine discussion, demonstration, and on-court application, giving participants the opportunity to both learn and practise modern coaching approaches.

Key focus areas include:

· The Game Sense approach to coaching

· Modern, effective coaching methodologies

· Practical session design and delivery

· Alignment with World Squash Federation coaching principles

 

Participants will not only observe but also apply these concepts on court, working alongside experienced coaches and players.

Presenters (confirmed so far)

· Roger Flynn OAM - Former National Coach of Scottish Squash and Head Coach at the Victorian Institute of Sport

· Dr Shane Pill - Professor and leading educator in sport coaching, specialising in Game Sense

· Geoff Davenport - 7-time World Masters Champion and World Squash Federation tutor and assessor

· Guest dietitian (with potential additional presenters)

· Coaches new to squash

· Coaches developing or running junior programs

· Coaches looking to refine and modernise their approach

Whether you are starting out or already coaching, this workshop will help you build confidence, develop practical skills, and strengthen your coaching delivery.
